As almost everyone uses the star system a little differently I thought I should be upfront as to how this site rates its reads …

One Star: didn’t finish the book.

Two Stars: Finished the book, but I probably finished a couple of other books while I did. It obviously had some redeeming factors but it was a slog.

Three Stars: Enjoyed the book, enjoyed the characters, and I’d be prepared to recommend it to people who like that type of book.

Four Stars: Really enjoyed the book, but it didn’t pull me in so deeply that I couldn’t maintain normal routines.

Five Stars: Couldn’t put the book down. Housework, sleep, all forgotten because I just had find out what happened next.
